The New Bond Movie Delivers

On Saturday, Shauna and I went with her parents to go see the new James Bond movie, Casino Royale. Just to clarify, I've never been a Bond guy. I think I've seen clips from some of the Bond movies, and I get some of the references, but I'd never seen one all the way through. This one, however, seemed to have a lot of positive buzz from friends and critics alike.

Totally. Awesome.

This movie was filled with amazing plot twists, great chase scenes, and a Bond more than a caricature of himself. (Just because I haven't seen any other Bond movies doesn't mean I don't know how ridiculous the character can be.) Daniel Craig was well cast and exudes the kind of raw manliness you'd expect from an international spy while still maintaining a level of humanity that you don't often see in an action hero. Eric Snider called him "Batman without a cape" and I'm going to have to agree with that assessment.

If you haven't yet seen this movie and you like-a the action, go plop yourself down in a theater seat and enjoy.
